Duties Assist plastic surgeon during various surgical procedures, ensuring precise instrument handling and tissue management Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile fields, surgical instruments, and supplies tailored to each procedure Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety Perform suturing with proficiency, supporting wound closure and tissue approximation with attention to detail Assist with preoperative preparations, including patient positioning, anesthesia support, and documentation of medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems Support discharge planning by providing post-operative instructions and coordinating follow-up care with patients and healthcare teams Requirements Proven experience as a surgical first assistant or scrub tech within a hospital or outpatient surgical setting, preferably with a focus on plastic surgery or related specialties Extensive suturing skills with knowledge of various surgical techniques including open and minimally invasive procedures Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) documentation processes Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to plastic surgery and perioperative care Knowledge of hospital infection prevention protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection control standards Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) are a plus Ability to work efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining meticulous attention to detail Excellent analysis skills for assessing patient needs and responding effectively during surgery Strong teamwork orientation with excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals Join our team if you're passionate about advancing your surgical expertise in a vibrant environment committed to patient safety and exceptional care!
