Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists during a variety of oral surgery procedures, including implants, All-on-X cases, and wisdom teeth removal, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available. Take dental X-rays and medical imaging, ensuring accurate documentation in electronic medical records. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical records, recording vital signs, and explaining procedures clearly using appropriate dental and medical terminology. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patient management software systems to schedule appointments, update medical documentation, and facilitate effective communication between staff and patients. Assist with dental equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal operation during clinical procedures. Skills Expertise as a surgical assistant. Proficiency with WinOMS for efficient record-keeping and patient management is a plus. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures, including dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols. Experience with dental X-ray techniques, medical imaging, and the use of 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics Ability to operate dental equipment safely while adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with the dental team.
