Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Surgical/General Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinical excellence. This vital role combines clinical assistance with patient management, ensuring smooth operations within a fast-paced dental environment. You'll support dentists during procedures, manage dental equipment, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Responsibilities Assist dentists during surgical procedures, general dentistry treatments, and complex oral surgeries with precision and professionalism. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, while adhering to safety protocols and radiation guidelines. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing patient questions or concerns with empathy. Maintain strict infection prevention protocols through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and assisting the dental receptionist when needed. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, with knowledge of general dentistry and oral surgery procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, and dental equipment operation. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention practices. Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures safely while maintaining radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical confidentiality policies.
