The Surgical Aide supports safe, efficient surgical services by assisting with basic patient care, transportation, positioning, room preparation, turnover, cleaning, and stocking under the direction of the RN or LPN. How you'll contribute A S Surgical Aide who excels in this role will: Provide compassionate, safe patient care under the direct supervision of an RN or LPN, supporting patient comfort, dignity, and overall well-being. Support surgical room readiness and turnover by cleaning, sanitizing, restocking, and preparing rooms efficiently between procedures. Assist with safe patient transportation and positioning, following established clinical procedures and safety protocols. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment in assigned surgical and patient-care areas while following infection prevention and hospital standards. Support efficient patient flow and surgical operations by promptly completing assigned tasks and responding to changing departmental needs. Maintain adequate supplies and equipment by keeping shelves stocked and delivering necessary materials to surgical and patient-care areas. Accurately transport specimens, medical records, imaging, and other essential items between departments while maintaining patient privacy and safety. Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgical staff, and other healthcare team members, using sound judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
