1 Description American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with strong trauma, vascular, and general surgery experience for a Level II Trauma Center surgery unit. Details 13-week contract assignment in the Surgery unit at a Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation 10-hour day shift schedule starting at 7:00 AM, 40 hours per week 1:1 patient ratio with minimal pediatric cases, typically orthopedic On-call rotation required for all service lines except Open Heart, one weekday per week (3p-7a) and one weekend per month (Friday 3p to Monday 7a) No floating required Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors Expected to work one holiday per contract term Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers; candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be considered Strong experience required in trauma (excluding burns), neuro, general, vascular (including endovascular), ENT, ortho spine, Gyn, urology, and robotics for general and neuro cases Experience with plastics, breast, and eye procedures also required Strong robotics experience preferred (Mazor or DaVinci XI) CVOR experience needed only if supporting open heart cases If applying for a vascular-specific role, competency required in AAA, carotids, AVG, AVF, fem-fem bypass, and aorta bi-fem procedures Certification preferred but not required, license required if applicable Additional Information Supports a large surgical team including ORAs, desk assistants, FAs, charge nurses, and service line team leaders Two-week orientation on day shift, with buddy call expected during orientation Green scrubs provided by the facility First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility Previous perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
