Technician functions under supervision of Registered Nurse and performs delegated tasks. Technician is care partner to Registered Nurse. Patient Care for surgical patients is provided collaboratively. Tasks performed are in compliance with department and hospital policies and procedures and within education preparation as well as Alabama Nurse Practice Act if an LPN. Qualifications for the job... Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing or recognized Scrub Technician School preferred. One to two years of clinical exposure in the surgical setting, i.e. surgical assistant, patient transporter, instrument processing, decontamination, preferred or required in lieu of formal training. Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to interact with physicians and families to elicit cooperation and allay apprehensions.
