Pay Rate:

HAL01 Job Summary A Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) assists surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals before, during, and after surgical procedures. The CST prepares the operating room, maintains a sterile field, handles surgical instruments, and supports the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Responsibilities Duties:

Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures. Maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgical procedures. Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures. Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and surgical draping. Pass instruments, sutures, and other supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate instruments and supplies. Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures. Prepare and handle surgical specimens according to hospital policy. Assist with surgical room turnover and ensure equipment is properly cleaned and prepared. Monitor and maintain sterile supplies and inventory. Follow infection-control, safety, and surgical protocols. Operate and maintain surgical equipment within the scope of practice. Assist with transporting and transferring patients as needed. Document required surgical information accurately. Work collaboratively with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia personnel, and other members of the surgical team.
