The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures, medical terminology, and sterile techniques, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment where precision, professionalism, and teamwork are paramount. The Certified Surgical Technologist will assist in a variety of surgical settings, including trauma, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, pediatric, and endoscopic procedures, contributing significantly to patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and organizing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques. Monitor patient vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and respiratory status throughout surgical interventions. Support the setup and operation of complex medical equipment used during surgery, including endoscopy systems and cardiovascular devices. Collect and document data related to surgical procedures, patient responses, and equipment functionality within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Maintain strict adherence to hospital policies regarding infection prevention and control measures to ensure patient safety. Assist in the treatment of fractures, trauma care procedures, and orthopedic surgeries by providing specialized instrument handling and support. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives related to sterile technique, infection control practices, and surgical outcomes. Experience Proven experience working within hospital environments as a Surgical Technologist with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated expertise in various surgical specialties including cardiovascular surgery assistance, neurosurgery support, orthopedic surgery assistance, pediatric surgery, and endoscopy procedures. Strong background in critical care settings such as ICU or acute care units with familiarity in patient monitoring and treatment protocols. Knowledge of medical equipment sterilization processes and the operation of advanced surgical instruments is essential. Experience with medical record documentation using EHR systems along with data collection for quality assurance purposes. Prior involvement in hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments that require rapid response capabilities. Familiarity with anatomy knowledge relevant to trauma care, fracture treatment, neuroanatomy for neurosurgery support, and physiology concepts related to critical care patients. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
