1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with strong Neuro, Spine, and Orthopedic experience for a hospital OR position in California. Details Hospital-based OR setting, including ambulatory OR and general OR environments Case types emphasize Neuro, Spine, Total Joint, and Orthopedic surgeries, with additional exposure across General, Vascular, Robotic, GYN, Urology, ENT, Thoracic, Plastics, and more Da Vinci robotic surgery experience required Epic EMR (preferred) Day shift, 5x8 hours, with variable shift times possible (approximately 0900-1730 or 1100-1930) Schedule includes weekend rotation and on-call requirements Occasional float to sister campuses required Requirements Minimum of 2 years of surgical technology experience required Strong Neuro, Spine, and Total Joint/Orthopedic experience required Da Vinci robotic surgery experience required Teaching hospital experience required Community hospital experience required CST credential from NBSTSA required BLS certification from AHA or ARC required CA license required if applicable HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent required 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration Trauma Level II experience preferred Additional Information Assist in preparing the OR and supporting the surgical team throughout a wide variety of surgical procedures Responsibilities include sterile field setup, instrument passing, specimen handling, sponge and instrument counts, and maintaining aseptic technique Proficiency in professional knowledge areas such as laser safety, radiation safety, sterilization/disinfection, universal protocol (time out), and sharps safety is expected Candidates must have a 7-year verifiable work history Local candidates are accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates First-time travelers will be considered for this position Former employees may return without a mandatory separation period; former manager's name will be required RTO is capped at 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday approved per contract; holidays covered include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging 1-5 hours, completed via e-learning
