Per Diem Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intra operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgeon environment for the patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member for the common good of the patient take responsibility for personal action.
Education :
High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from a formal surgical tech training program or 1 year of acute hospital surgical technician experience required. Certification from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required
Experience :
One year experience in a main operating room within the last two years preferred Basic knowledge of scrub role Handling of instruments, set up, anticipates surgeons needs Knowledge of autoclaves Transporting patients Must be able to keep all information confidential. Must be dependable, adaptable to change and have good organizational skills. Licenses and/or
Certifications:
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
