Pay Rate:

$2187/wk. for 40hours. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools efficiently. Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgeries to ensure patient stability and safety. Ensure strict compliance with hospital infection prevention protocols and sterilization standards for all medical equipment. Support the collection of data related to surgical outcomes and assist in quality improvement initiatives. Handle the setup and operation of specialized medical equipment used during surgeries such as endoscopes or cardiovascular devices. Assist with the treatment of fractures, trauma care procedures, and orthopedic surgeries by providing precise instrument handling. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia providers, nurses, and physicians to facilitate seamless operative workflows. Requirements Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program is mandatory. Proven experience working in hospital environments with exposure to Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in handling surgical instruments such as suturing tools and orthopedic devices. Experience assisting in cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric surgeries, or endoscopic procedures is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of sterile techniques (aseptic technique), infection control practices, and hospital policies for medical equipment sterilization. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or comparable platforms for documentation purposes. Ability to perform data collection accurately for quality assurance and clinical research initiatives. Excellent understanding of anatomy, physiology, vital signs monitoring, and critical care principles. Capable of working effectively in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or acute care settings like the ICU or PICU. Knowledge of medical terminology related to surgery assistance across various specialties including orthopedic surgery and trauma care. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform precise manual tasks involving suturing or treatment of fractures.
