Full-Time or Fixed Part-Time Schedule Reports to: Nurse Manager - Operating Room & Nursing Services SUMMARY Ladner Facial Plastic Surgery is a premier facial plastic surgery and aesthetic practice known for natural, refined results and an elevated patient experience. Elevate Aesthetic Institute, our dedicated surgical center, provides a highly specialized environment for facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with a focus on patient safety, surgical excellence, and exceptional care. We are seeking an experienced Surgical Tech to join our operating room team at Elevate Aesthetic Institute. The Surgical Tech works closely with our facial plastic surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesia providers to support safe and efficient surgical care from operating room preparation through completion of each case. This position will support facial plastic and reconstructive procedures including facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, brow lifts, facial fat grafting, MOHS reconstruction, and other facial procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with high standards for quality and patient care.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONSSurgical and Operating Room Responsibilities Prepare the operating room for scheduled surgical procedures, including instruments, equipment, supplies, and surgeon-specific preferences. Establish and maintain the sterile field throughout surgical procedures. Scrub and assist surgeons during facial plastic and reconstructive procedures. Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments, sutures, and supplies throughout procedures. Perform surgical counts with the circulating nurse in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, draping, dressings, and other perioperative activities within the scope of the role. Maintain knowledge of surgeon preferences, surgical techniques, instrumentation, and procedural requirements. Support efficient room turnover and preparation between surgical cases. Ensure instruments, equipment, and supplies are properly cleaned, prepared, sterilized, stored, and available for upcoming procedures. OR Operations and Inventory Maintain organization and readiness of operating rooms, sterile processing areas, instruments, and surgical supplies. Monitor surgical inventory and communicate supply and equipment needs to the Nurse Manager. Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating surgical supplies while minimizing waste and expired inventory. Identify damaged, missing, or malfunctioning instruments and equipment and ensure concerns are promptly communicated. Support efficient OR workflow and identify opportunities to improve case preparation, turnover, and surgical efficiency. Quality, Safety, and Compliance Follow established infection prevention, sterile technique, patient safety, and surgical policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and procedure-ready surgical environment. Promptly communicate safety, quality, or compliance concerns to the Nurse Manager. Participate in required training, competency assessments, safety initiatives, and continuing education. Team Collaboration and Patient Experience Work collaboratively with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team. Communicate professionally and effectively before, during, and after surgical cases. Contribute to a positive, respectful, accountable, and team-oriented work environment. Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and compassion when interacting with patients and families. Support the elevated patient experience and standards of care of Ladner Facial Plastic Surgery and Elevate Aesthetic Institute.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent surgical technology training required. Experience Operating Room experience required. Experience in facial plastic surgery, plastic surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, or another surgical specialty requiring fine instrumentation and soft-tissue surgical techniques preferred. Experience in an ambulatory or office-based surgical facility is preferred. Licensure and Certifications Current BLS/CPR certification required. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Part-time positions will have a consistent, fixed weekly schedule aligned with established surgical days. This is not a PRN or variable-schedule position. Full-time employees will work a regular schedule based on surgical volume and operating room needs. Flexibility may occasionally be required based on case length and surgical schedule.
