Eye Health America partners with leading eye care practices across the Southeast, providing the operational, strategic, and administrative support needed to deliver exceptional patient care. The Eye Associates, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. We are always seeking great people who aren't just searching for a job but looking to make a difference. This individual is responsible for assisting the surgeon and nurse in rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the center in accordance with established procedures. Overtime may be required.
Job Responsibilities:
Assists in preparing the operating room for the planned procedure. Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies. Sets up sterile operating field with instruments and supplies necessary for that procedure; arranges instruments, sutures, drapes, and supplies per AORN standards. Observes strict aseptic technique throughout the entire procedure and report break-in technique to the circulating nurse and the surgeon. Passes instruments, supplies, and sutures to the surgeon and assistants as needed and in such a manner so that their attention is not diverted from the operative field. Sees that all instruments, needles, sponges, and other supplies are removed from the operative field. Requirements:
One or more years of related work experience in the operating room is required. Certification is a plus!
