(SCRUB TECH) ( Full Time) Larkin Community Hospital - 3.5 Hialeah, FL Job Details Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Microbiology BLS Certification Certified Surgical Technologist Full Job Description The Surgical Technologist (Scrub Tech) is an essential member of the perioperative team responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. Working under the direction of the Registered Nurse and in collaboration with surgeons and other members of the surgical team, the Surgical Technologist prepares the operating room, establishes and maintains the sterile field, organizes surgical instruments and supplies, and provides direct technical assistance throughout operative procedures. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, knowledgeable in sterile and aseptic technique, and able to anticipate the needs of the surgical team in a fast-paced hospital environment. Minimum Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited or recognized Surgical Technology program preferred. Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. (American Heart Association) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required . Experience Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech in an acute-care hospital, operating room, ambulatory surgery center, or comparable surgical environment preferred. Experience scrubbing a variety of surgical specialties is strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, supplies, equipment, and procedures. Understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and surgical terminology. Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and operative team. Ability to recognize and promptly address breaks in sterile technique. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Ability to remain organized and composed in high-pressure and emergency situations. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced surgical environment. Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Ability to follow physician direction, nursing direction, hospital policy, and established departmental procedures. Ability to adapt to changing surgical schedules, procedures, equipment, and patient care needs. Familiarity with infection prevention practices and Standard Precautions. Basic computer and electronic documentation skills.
