33614 Prepares sterile dressings and clean instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Other duties as assigned. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Interpersonal Skills [Required] Completion of validation skills [Required] Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up [Required] Knowledge of sterilization techniques [Required] Laser skills/training [Required] Able to precept and act as resource person and preceptor in multiple surgical specialties [Preferred] Minimum of one year scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service [Required] Demonstrated specialization in one or more surgical areas as determined by Director [Required] Proficient in the English language [Required] Knowledge of malignant hyperthermia, surgical site infection prevention, emergency code cart, high and low level disinfection, clinical alarms, medication management, isolation precautions, surgical care of patients age (0-100+), fire safety, AIDET, and SBAR [Required]

Education:

Associate [Preferred] High School Grad or Equivalent [Required] Technical/Vocational School [Required]

Work Experience:

2+ years of experience as certified surgical tech Proficient in a minimum of 3 major surgical specialties [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support

•CPR Cert (BLS) [Required] Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery

•Certified (NTSC) [Required]
