1 Description American Traveler seeks a Surgical Assistant/Surgical First Assist for a CVOR position requiring 18 months of recent CVOR experience with strong cardiac, vascular, and endovascular case exposure. Details Hospital-based CVOR unit performing cardiac and vascular procedures 4x10 AM shift schedule averaging 70+ hours per four-week period, which may vary Weekday shifts run 5am-11am and 11pm-7am Weekend and holiday shifts run 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am Requires one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday shift per schedule cycle (non-consecutive) Holiday rotation required, including weekends surrounding holidays May be required to float to General OR as needed Requirements Minimum 18 months of full-time CVOR experience in a similar acuity setting within the last 3 years Must rate at level 3 or 4 for cardiac and vascular procedures Strong endovascular experience required License required if applicable Full SSN and date of birth needed for consideration Additional Information Assist with cardiac and vascular surgical procedures including cannulations, aorta cases, and endovascular cases Support both adult and congenital cardiac case types depending on experience Work within a collaborative CVOR team supporting complex cardiovascular surgeries Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered, with limited exceptions Former Emory or Houston employees must be separated for 1 year before returning to the health system, or 18 months if returning to the same facility RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 5 days if not near a holiday, or 3 days if near a holiday, with only one holiday request allowed On-call not required
