Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Travel Surgical Technologist, where you will play a vital role in supporting surgical teams across diverse hospital settings. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in fast-paced environments, assisting with a wide range of surgical procedures including trauma, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, pediatrics, and more. You will be responsible for preparing operating rooms, sterilizing medical equipment, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and infection control. Your expertise will help facilitate smooth surgeries and contribute to positive patient outcomes in various hospital environments. Duties Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to procedure requirements. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision. Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols to maintain a sterile environment. Operate and troubleshoot medical equipment used in surgeries such as endoscopy devices or cardiovascular monitors. Collect and document data related to patient vitals, anesthesia levels, and procedural details using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Support patient care by monitoring vital signs, assisting with positioning, and providing comfort before and after surgeries. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, nurses, and physicians to ensure seamless surgical workflows. Requirements Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist with exposure to Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers preferred. Demonstrated expertise in handling surgical instruments such as suturing tools and orthopedic or neurosurgical equipment. Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures. Hands-on experience with medical equipment sterilization and infection control practices. Ability to perform in high-pressure environments such as emergency medicine or critical care units including ICU or PICU settings. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to trauma care or specialized surgeries are advantageous. Excellent analysis skills for data collection and interpretation of vital signs during procedures. Familiarity with hospital experience including OR operations, medical records management, and endoscopy procedures.
