Job Summary:
The Perioperative Services Tech supports the surgical team by performing a variety of duties related to patient care, environmental maintenance, and supply handling in the operating room and perioperative areas. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist, this position plays a key role in preparing the surgical environment and ensuring safe, efficient care for patients undergoing procedures.Key Responsibilities:
1.Assists with patient care and observation duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, LPN, or Surgical Technologist2.May assist with set up of operating rooms for surgical procedures3.Opens sterile supplies and instruments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist, ensuring proper aseptic technique is followed4.Stocks, sets up, and maintains specialty carts and equipment needed for surgical procedures5.Maintains supplies, equipment, and instruments in a clean and aseptic condition6.Performs routine cleaning, disinfection, and trash removal in the perioperative environment7.May assist with transporting patients safely to and from the operating area8.Replenishes stock of supplies, medications (as permitted), and linens before, during, and after procedures9.Provides excellent customer service by greeting and assisting patients, family members, and healthcare team members10.Complies with hospital policies and safety standards, including infection control and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines11.Performs other duties as assigned to support perioperative servicesMinimum Qualifications:
Education - High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience - Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
