1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical First Assistant for a hospital OR position requiring CSFA certification and BLS. Details Hospital Surgery unit Variable shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Assists the primary surgeon during surgical procedures, providing exposure, hemostasis, and other surgical support functions Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Associate's or Technical Degree preferred CSFA certification required BLS certification required License required if applicable Minimum of 3 years of OR experience required Recent experience within the last 3 months required Cerner and Epic experience must be noted in employment history if applicable Additional Information Prepares and positions patients for surgery and assists in visualization of the operating field Provides hemostasis, harvests surgical grafts, performs incision closures, and applies wound dressings Performs pre- and postoperative activities to support optimal patient care Verifies availability of surgical equipment, supplies, and implants according to surgeon preference Prepares and maintains the operating room environment for each procedure Performs surgical hand scrub, gowning, and gloving Coordinates and participates in patient draping Verifies operative consent and reviews pertinent patient documentation Works under direct supervision within defined clinical parameters Candidates with more than 5 days of RTO will be automatically declined Candidates with a prior hit on their license will not be considered No radius rule applies, as local rates match travel rates Accepts local candidates
