Operating Room Technician Vincennes, IN, United States
JOB DESCRIPTION
Hours 0930-1800 Monday through Friday with rotating on call weekdays and weekends.
Job Summary:
The Operating Room Technician will participate as a member of the perioperative patient care team performing direct and indirect perioperative tasks for patients having surgical procedures and to assist the team with turnaround of the surgical rooms.
Essential Job Duties:
Assist registered nurse with the provision of direct patient care by preparing patient for their surgical procedure both in the pre-op area and surgical room. Transports the surgical patient between various departments. Collaborates with team members in preparing surgical equipment by utilizing principles of sterile technique to provide a clean and safe environment. Pick up and deliver blood, blood products, specimens as required aligning with the hospital policies and procedures. Assist the operating room team in the turnover of rooms, restocking supplies, and assisting in handing sterile supplies according to policy and procedure. Assist anesthesia providers by delivering needed equipment to various areas within the hospital. Maintains high satisfaction levels by providing care with consideration of the individual needs of the patient/family and their age specific/development needs. Supports the strategic plan by being fiscally responsible in utilizing supplies and items necessary for departmental operations. Contributes as part of the call team. Secondary Job Duties That May be

High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience:
Previous hospital or healthcare experience in direct patient care. Basic Life Support Certification
