Job Description Schedule:
M-F 5 x 8 hr shifts with minimal call The Surgical Technologist functions as a member of the patient care team, under the supervision of the physician, registered nurse and/or the unit director. This position provides technical skills in the role of the surgical scrub during operative procedures. Responsibilities Promotes the vision, mission and PI philosophy of LMH. Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to promote teamwork, collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to deliver optimal patient services. Performs skills from skills checklist accurately. Participates in performance improvement activities, initiating improvement through proper channels. Respects and demonstrates confidentiality. Adheres to hospital policies and procedures. Demonstrates accountability for maintaining and advancing professional competency, meeting educational requirements pertinent to practice. Demonstrates flexibility regarding scheduling. Adheres to safety policies and procedures and displays knowledge of hospital's emergency code procedures. Participates in staff meetings. May participate in QA, PI activities and other hospital committees. May participate in communications with the surgical representatives with the various vendors. Demonstrates expertise with instrumentation, setting up the case and physician preferences. Performs other duties as needed or assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
Qualifications Required:
Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program, or 5 years of scrub technician experience or hospital surgical technologist experience.
BLS Certification Preferred:
