66204 Provides and maintains a safe physical environment. Adheres to standards and protocols when working in the operating room and sterile processing. Displays working knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and supplies. Follows department and hospital policies and regulatory standards. Maintains aseptic technique at all times. Carries out responsibilities in an appropriate manner. Works collaboratively as a member of the surgical team. Manages workload efficiently. Uses equipment proficiently and safely. Assists in the assembly, set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the sterile field. Supports the surgical team by providing necessary instruments and supplies. Participates in the care of the surgical patient. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be proficient in the English language. [Required] Sterile Technique [Required] Malignant Hyperthermia [Required] Surgical Site Infection Prevention [Required] Emergency Code Cart [Required] High and low level disinfection [Required] Clinical Alarms [Required] Medication Management [Required] Isolation Precautions [Required] Surgical Care of Patient age (0-100+) [Required] Fire Safety [Required] AIDET [Required] SBAR [Required] Must be proficient in the English language. [Preferred] Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures both organizational and departmental. [Preferred] Regulatory standards (TJC, OSHA, NPSG) [Preferred] Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills [Preferred] Clear and effective verbal and written communications [Preferred] Clinical excellence [Preferred]

Education:

Associate [Preferred] Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology Program or Military Training Program in Surgical Technology [Required]

Field of Study:

Surgical Technology Work Experience:

1+ experience as a surgical technologist in an operating room [Required]
