Required (CVOR Call) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) to join a busy Surgical Services team in Lexington, Kentucky. The Surgical Technologist functions as an integral member of the perioperative team under the direction of the Registered Nurse, providing exceptional sterile surgical support during cardiovascular and vascular procedures. The ideal candidate will have Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) experience , be comfortable taking call, and possess the versatility to scrub across multiple surgical specialties while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and aseptic technique. Key Responsibilities Perioperative Surgical Support Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields for cardiovascular and vascular procedures. Perform scrub duties during surgical cases. Select, organize, and prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment. Set up and maintain organized Mayo stands and back tables. Anticipate surgeon needs throughout procedures. Perform accurate surgical counts before, during, and after procedures. Verify functionality of surgical instruments and equipment prior to each case. Prepare operating rooms prior to scheduled procedures. Assist with efficient room turnover between cases. Support emergency surgical procedures when needed. Aseptic Technique & Infection Prevention Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures.
Demonstrate competency in:
Sterile gowning and gloving Sterilization and disinfection methods Instrument handling Medication labeling on the sterile field Properly handle and dispose of sharps. Inspect equipment for safety and report malfunctions. Ensure instruments are properly cleaned prior to sterilization. Follow Steris, Steam Sterilization, Sterrad, and event-related sterility protocols. Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgical staff. Participate in orientation and mentoring of new staff and students. Update surgeon preference cards. Demonstrate flexibility by assisting across multiple surgical specialties. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives. Support organizational patient safety goals. Patient Safety & Compliance Adhere to: AORN Guidelines National Patient Safety Goals Facility policies and procedures Complete all required education and safety training. Promote positive patient and customer experiences through professional communication. Required Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program (Technical Diploma required) Associate Degree accepted Certifications Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)

  • 9:30 PM 40 Hours per Week 4 Days per Week CVOR Call Required Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a Certified Surgical Technologist with recent CVOR and CT/Vascular experience who is comfortable in a fast-paced cardiovascular operating room, can independently manage scrub responsibilities, anticipate surgeon needs, maintain sterile technique, and flex across multiple surgical specialties while delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

  • 9:30 PM)? Are you able to work onsite in Lexington, KY 40503? Are you available for a 3-5 month contract assignment with the possibility of extension? Are you comfortable with the pay rate of $50
