Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team at our Paducah facility. In this role, you will serve as the primary scrub person or surgical assistant, ensuring a sterile environment and supporting the surgical team to promote safe and efficient patient care. Key Responsibilities Pre-Operative Preparation:

Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies in accordance with procedure requirements.

Sterile Technique:

Maintain a sterile field throughout all surgical procedures; scrub in and assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies.

Patient Care:

Assist with positioning patients for surgery, draping, and preparing surgical sites.

Instrument Management:

Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure accuracy and prevent retained items.

Equipment & Safety:

Operate sterilization equipment, ensure proper handling of instruments, and verify that all surgical equipment is functioning correctly.

Anticipation:

Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during operations to maintain workflow efficiency.

Specimen Handling:

Handle and label specimens according to facility policy.

Post-Operative Duties:

Clean and restock operating rooms after procedures; complete necessary documentation and case information.

Compliance:

Strictly follow infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies.

Requirements Education:

Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

Certification:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.

Note:

Eligibility for certification must be established if currently pending.

Legal:

Valid Driver's License.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and medical terminology.

Expected hours:

25.0 - 35.0 per week
