Assist in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer and discharge procedures. Provides post-mortem care and assists in transporting bodies to the morgue. Provides daily hygiene care, which may include bed baths, oral hygiene, combing hair, skin care, dressing patients, changing and/or freshening bed linen, cleaning overbed tables and bedside stands, straightening room and other general care as necessary throughout the day. Assist RN or LPN with patient care interventions. Answers telephone and call lights. Takes messages and communicates messages to proper person. Communication is effective, courteous and tactful. Performs clerical duties related to the admission, transfer and discharge of patients. Assist patients, visitors and physicians in the nursing unit. Compiles new charts, maintains current charts and enters patient information in the computer, and other necessary forms.
