Job Description
Surgical Center Technician•
Bedford, NH Job Purpose:
The Surgical Center Technician handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. This individual has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.Schedule:
Per diem position supporting the Operating Room during designated batch weeks. One week of availability is required each month. Work schedules will be provided at least one month in advance to allow for planning and flexibility.Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
Knowledge of surgical scrub processes and instrumentation for gyn, and urology procedures. Follows proper sterility, infection control, and safety precautions in the performance of all duties. Assembles supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Prepares sterile instrument table. Maintains aseptic techniques and actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Transports patients to and from surgical suite. Assists the surgical team in surgical procedures which includes passing instruments, sponges, and sutures. Gathers equipment for cleaning and sterilization. Orients and mentors new staff members. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Academic Training:
High school diploma or GED Studies level: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Graduate of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists and hold a certified surgical technologist credential- OR•Has a minimum two years' experience as a surgical instrument technician prior to January 1, 2015 and required written employment documentation.

Previous experience in women's health or reproductive endocrinology and infertility- preferred 2+ years of experience as a surgical technician
