1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 2+ years of experience across multiple specialties for an evening shift OR position. Details Community hospital setting with 8 operating rooms Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics with a 1:1 patient ratio Common cases include General, Bariatrics, Trauma, GYN, Urology, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro, and Podiatry surgeries 5x8 evening shift schedule from 14:45 to 23:15 One weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) required every other weekend On-call requirement of 5-6 calls per 4-week period, including one weekend call, with a 30-minute response time when called in Weekday/weeknight on-call runs from end of shift until 6:30 am the following morning, with weekend on-call spanning 24 hours Floating required within specialty and to a sister campus (Laurel) as needed Holiday coverage required as scheduled, inclusive of on-call and weekend shifts Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist CST certification required BLS certification required (AHA only) ACLS certification preferred (AHA only) License required if applicable Strong skills and proficiency in General, Bariatrics, Trauma, GYN, Urology, Robotics, Ortho, Neuro, and Podiatry specialties Community hospital experience required First-time travelers accepted Additional Information Perform aseptic technique, instrument processing, and sterilization/disinfection duties Maintain proper equipment documentation and specimen handling/labeling Adhere to isolation precautions, PPE, radiation safety, and laser safety protocols Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures for surgical safety Experience with robotics such as the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System is beneficial Familiarity with sterile processing tasks including assembly, wrap, and instrument container preparation is a plus Exposure to trauma cases such as amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and multiple injury MVAs Work in a fast-paced environment supporting a wide range of surgical specialties
