Job Description

Description Maine Medical Center Professional - Clinical Req #: 94385 Surgical Support Technician Ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to make sure the right surgical supplies, implants, and instruments are exactly where they need to be, exactly when they're needed? As a Surgical Support Technician at Maine Medical Center Biddeford, you'll be the connective tissue that keeps our operating rooms running smoothly, working at the intersection of supply chain, technology, and patient care. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role at the ground level of surgical services, and it's an ideal entry point for someone looking to build a career within Maine's largest healthcare system. No advanced degree or extensive healthcare background required, just curiosity, reliability, and a genuine interest in how hospitals actually work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and stock incoming surgical supply inventory Reconcile physical inventory counts against system records to maintain accuracy Support invoice processing and payment coordination for implants and surgical supplies Collaborating with surgical specialty leads to ensure the right supplies are available for scheduled cases Partner with the Operating Room nursing team, Supply Chain, Sterile Processing, and Surgical Services leadership to keep daily operations on track Utilize Infor software to manage inventory data and supply workflows Receive tissue and manage books for State compliance Day to day, you'll move between the stockroom, the OR corridors, and the computer screen, tracking down a missing case cart component one moment and reconciling a supply count the next. It's a role that rewards people who like solving small puzzles before they become big problems, and who take satisfaction in knowing that a surgeon opening a case tray will find exactly what they need, exactly when they need it. You'll also get a front-row seat to how a surgical department actually functions: how supplies get ordered and paid for, how inventory systems talk to clinical teams, and how dozens of people across different departments coordinate to make a single surgery happen. For someone curious about a future in healthcare operations, supply chain, or clinical support, there's no better place to start learning the ropes than here, at Maine's largest healthcare employer.
