Monday-Thursday, 10-Hour Day Shifts (40 Hours/Week) Job Overview Calais Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Scrub Technician (CST) for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a sterile surgical environment, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, and assisting surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative Operating Room team at a Critical Access Hospital. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room before each surgical procedure. Set up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to surgeon preference cards. Scrub and assist during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon. Maintain sterile technique throughout all procedures. Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts according to hospital policy. Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments. Assist with room turnover and preparation for the next procedure. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other perioperative staff. Maintain accurate documentation and follow all hospital policies and infection control standards. Promote patient safety while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Requirements Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Minimum 2 years of current Operating Room (OR) experience . Recent experience as a Certified Surgical Scrub Technician (CST) . Current ORT/CST Certification . Current
BLS/BCLS
Certification . Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Pay:
$45.00 - $50.00 per hour
