Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our dynamic surgical team. The CST will play a vital role in supporting surgical procedures across various specialties, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, infection control, and operative efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where precision, expertise, and teamwork are essential. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of surgical techniques, medical terminology, and hospital protocols, contributing to optimal patient outcomes and smooth surgical operations. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to aseptic techniques and infection prevention standards. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical supplies with precision. Ensure the proper handling, sterilization, and maintenance of medical equipment and surgical instruments. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses during surgery to support anesthesia teams and ensure patient stability. Collect data related to surgical procedures, including documentation of operative details in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic. Support a variety of specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, trauma care, pediatrics, endoscopy, and medical-surgical cases. Maintain strict adherence to hospital policies on infection control, sterile technique, and safety protocols. Assist with treatment of fractures, trauma care procedures, and complex surgeries requiring specialized skills such as suturing or handling orthopedic devices. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments like Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers. Participate in ongoing training related to hospital medicine, critical care practices including ICU procedures, and advanced emergency response techniques. Requirements Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification Active AHA BLS certification Previous travel assignment experience High School Diploma or GED Why Apply?
