Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our multi-specialty Edina healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist in surgical operations under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical personnel. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to patient care. This opening is for a 0.8 FTE during operating hours of Mon-Friday 6:30 a.m- 3 p.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment is sterile and ready
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain a sterile field during surgery
- Collect and label specimens for laboratory analysis
- Keep track of surgical instruments before, during, and after procedures
- Help clean and restock operating rooms after surgeries
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols
Requirements:
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Proficiency in medical terminology and data collection
- Experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting
- Ability to analyze situations and act quickly in emergency scenarios
- Familiarity with procedures in an Acute Care setting
- Knowledge of surgical practices in Critical Care environments
- Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is a plus
- Understanding of medical records and documentation processes
