Job Description
Surgical Technician - Eye Clinic 📍 O'Fallon, MO 🕒 Part-Time (Full-Time hours available for candidates open to additional responsibilities) Adecco Healthcare is partnering with a respected Eye Clinic in O'Fallon, MO to hire an experienced Surgical Technician . This role is ideal for candidates with operating room experience, particularly in ophthalmology, who are passionate about supporting high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process. Key Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and supplies for ophthalmic procedures. Assist ophthalmologists during surgeries, including cataract and glaucoma procedures. Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards. Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and pre-operative support. Set up, calibrate, and maintain ophthalmic surgical equipment and instruments. Document surgical activities and maintain inventory records. Assist with postoperative patient care and recovery processes. Provide patient education regarding post-surgical care and follow-up instructions. Qualifications 2-3+ years of Surgical Technician experience required. Ophthalmology surgical experience strongly preferred. COSA (Certified Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant) or related certification preferred. Experience working in an operating room environment. Knowledge of ophthalmic anatomy, cataract surgery, and glaucoma procedures. Current CPR certification required. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical setting. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures. Ability to lift and move surgical instruments and supplies. Visual acuity sufficient to assist with delicate ophthalmic surgical procedures. Ideal Candidate A Surgical Technician with ophthalmology or eye surgery experience, strong sterile processing knowledge, operating room expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
