View More Jobs Case Technician Jackson, MS, United States and 1 more Job Description The Case Tech assists in the preparation of the surgical room prior to procedures, transporting patients to specific operating areas as needed, and in maintaining an adequate supply of sterilized equipment, instruments and supplies necessary during surgical procedures. Responsibilities Patient Care Assists in preparing Operating Room or Procedure Room by ensuring that equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterilized, maintained, and available at all times. Maintains knowledge of instruments, equipment, and supplies use in order to ensure efficient surgical operations. Assists with patient preps and patient positioning prior to surgical procedure in an efficient and professional. Acts as a second scrub as needed for the provision of high-quality patient care services by assisting with case set up and withholding retractors, scopes, or cameras to provide better visualization for the physician during procedure. Transports patients to Pre-operative Area, Operating Room, or Procedure Room as needed in a caring, considerate, expedient, and professional manner. Quality Coordinates with other departments on proper instrument processing and sterilization in order to ensure that adequate quantities of surgical instruments are available at all times. Ensures that all instruments and equipment are in good working condition at all times and promptly facilitates their repair when needed. Collaboration & Partnership Functions as a member of the turnover team by diligently and efficiently assisting in preparing rooms between surgeries and preparing patients for surgery in a compassionate and professional manner. Assists Registered Nurses and Surgical Technologists in supplying the physician with needed equipment and supplies and coordinating instrument and supplies layout for the procedure in order to ensure conformity with infection control standards and safety for all patients. Assists nursing staff with retrieving medications and case drug bags, and places in appropriate locations for administration by the nurse. Assists in returning medications and drug trays to appropriate locations for return to the pharmacy. Other Duties As Assigned Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
