Deaconess Hospital | Interventional Radiology | Full Time Posted 7 days ago Apply Save Description The Radiology Surgical Technologist provides specialized radiologic services to support surgical procedures and assist in diagnosis and treatment. This role performs radiographic, fluoroscopic, and CT-guided procedures to produce quality images for interpretation by surgeons and radiologists. The technologist collaborates with surgical and radiology teams, ensures safe and accurate imaging practices, and may assist in sterile field preparation and patient positioning during procedures. This position contributes to patient safety, quality outcomes, and effective surgical workflows.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology Program. Current Montana Radiologic Technologist License. Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred:

Prior experience in an operating room or interventional radiology setting. Advanced modality certification(s) (e.g., CT, MRI, or Interventional Radiology).

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timely completion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Perform diagnostic radiographic exams and fluoroscopic procedures as requested by licensed providers. Provide intraoperative imaging support, including C-arm fluoroscopy, for surgeons during orthopedic and spine surgeries (e.g., XLIF, ALIF, PLIF). Collaborate with radiologists and surgical staff to ensure accurate imaging and patient safety. Assist with patient education regarding preparation and post-procedure care. Support radiology nursing with fluoroscopically guided procedures such as PICC line placements. Complete required documentation for interpretation, reporting, archiving, and billing. Maintain imaging equipment, sterile fields, and assist with supply preparation during surgical procedures. Serve as a liaison between radiology and surgical services; provide backup coverage for radiology core as needed. Educate radiology students, new hires, and colleagues on imaging techniques and intraoperative guidance. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety monitoring, and departmental performance metrics. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule Requirements:

This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
