Job Description
Overview Participates as a member of the OR team, preparing for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, assisting in surgery and maintaining surgical suites. Responsibilities Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures. Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste. Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures. Handles surgical specimens. Files and copies path and procedure chart reports. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of a Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred. 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred. Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians Required Licensure/Certifications
