The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and management of surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring a sterile environment for various procedures. This role involves supporting surgeons during surgeries, maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency, and providing exceptional patient care throughout the operative process. Experience in operating room settings, particularly with orthopedic and ophthalmology surgeries, is highly valued. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before procedures. Assist surgeons by passing surgical instruments and supplies during operations, maintaining a sterile field at all times. Handle and organize surgical instruments, including specialized tools used in orthopedic surgery and ophthalmology procedures. Support the surgical team in positioning patients appropriately for different types of surgeries. Monitor and maintain sterile techniques throughout the procedure to prevent infections. Count and track surgical instruments and supplies before, during, and after surgeries to ensure nothing is left inside the patient. Assist with patient preparation, including transferring patients to the operating table and ensuring their comfort. Follow all safety protocols and hospital policies to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate smooth surgical operations. Requirements Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program. Proven OR experience, with familiarity in handling surgical instruments across various specialties. Specific experience or knowledge related to orthopedic, pain, spine, surgery procedures. Experience with ophthalmology surgeries is required. Strong understanding of sterile techniques and infection control practices. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in instrument management and surgical preparation. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills to coordinate with the surgical team efficiently.
