In this role, you will assist surgeons and medical staff during a wide range of procedures, ensuring that operating rooms are prepared, sterile, and equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to aseptic techniques. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools efficiently. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgeries to ensure stability and safety. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, documenting procedures and patient information meticulously. Support infection prevention protocols by adhering to hospital infection control standards and sterilization procedures for medical equipment. Assist with the treatment of fractures, trauma care, orthopedic surgeries, neurosurgeries, cardiovascular surgeries, and pediatric procedures as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine, critical care units such as ICU or PICU, and during trauma cases at Level I or Level II trauma centers. Skills Extensive knowledge of surgical instruments, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques. Proven experience assisting in various surgical specialties including orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, trauma care, and pediatrics. Strong data collection skills for recording procedures, patient responses, and equipment usage accurately. Proficiency in operating medical equipment sterilization devices and surgical tools with precision. Ability to perform suturing techniques efficiently and assist with treatment of fractures or trauma-related injuries. Critical thinking skills for analyzing patient data such as vital signs and physiological responses during surgeries. Familiarity with hospital medicine practices, endoscopy procedures, ambulatory surgery centers, and healthcare infection control standards.
