1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong orthopedic experience for a hospital operating room position on a day shift schedule. Details Hospital operating room setting supporting general OR, ambulatory OR, and multiple surgical specialties Cases span orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, urology, neuro, plastics, podiatry, ENT, thoracic, bariatric, and robotic surgery procedures Uses equipment such as cell savers, surgical drills, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and the Hana table Robotic surgery systems used include Da Vinci Xi, Da Vinci SP, and Mako Surgical System Day shift schedule working 4x10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM Requirements Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist BLS certification required NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required Strong orthopedic surgical experience required State or Compact license required if applicable, and must be in hand at time of consideration Epic charting experience preferred Additional Information Assist with a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, and robotics Maintain sterile fields and adhere to universal protocol, including surgical time out procedures Follow laser, radiation, and sharps safety protocols Properly handle and label specimens per hospital procedure Participate in emergency management and fire safety practices First-time travelers will be considered for this position Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
