As a team member, you help fulfill our mission to make life better here for our community. The Surgical Technologist addresses the readiness of surgical instruments/equipment in the Operating Suite. They are responsible for collaborating with surgeons, RN's, and other preoperative staff to ensure a successful patient outcome.Required Behaviors:

- As a member of Peri-operative Services, we will seek to anticipate the needs of our surgeons, anesthesia, patients and peers.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology
- Knowledge of General, Ortho, Gyn, OB cases
- BLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as Scrub Technologist
- Certifications specific to the OR and/or Endoscopy specialties
- Knowledge of Neuro, Spinal, Urology, and Vascular cases
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, organize, and maintain supplies for surgical cases
- Assist with inventory management and managing supplies in Peri-Operative Services
- Maintains Sterile Technique
- Organizes equipment, supplies and drapes in preparation for procedure
- Labels medications and solutions used on the field
- Returns OR to ready status after each case
- Communicates effectively with all members of the surgical team
- Anticipates needs of the Surgeon
- Reports any and all breaks in Sterile technique
- Assembles Case Carts as needed
- Follows the direction of the surgeon, RN, Charge nurse
- Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC's Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:
All Peri-operative Services jobs may place heavy physical demands on the employee. The amount of time that the employee is exposed to these demands will fluctuate, as there are uncontrollable variables inherent in healthcare i.e.; patient's height and weight, patient's level of cooperation and strength, specific clinical needs, etc.Physical Activities:
- All Peri-operative Services jobs may require lifting/pushing/pulling varying weights, (may exceed two hundred (200) pounds)
- Activities may include intermittent or prolonged: standing, walking, sitting, talking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with arms
- Repetitive motions may also be required, such as: wrist/hand movements, grasping, and finger dexterity (as in typing, writing, faxing, filing papers, etc.
Work Environment:
- The job requires the risk of exposure to the following environmental conditions: hazardous chemicals, anesthetic agents, body fluids and waste, blood borne diseases, infectious and contagious diseases, risk of electrical/mechanical shock, risk of burns and cuts
- Exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements, (i.e. accidents, injuries and severe illnesses)
- The noise level may vary from very quiet to very loud
Sensory Requirements:
The employee will need to be able to hear:- Alarms on equipment, fire alarms, and overhead announcements

Schedule:
M-F 12:30p- 9:00p RAD Tech / CT Tech Radiologic Technologists are entrusted to use their education in the art of radiologic imaging of the human body, with the intent of providing excellent diagnostic images for the treatment of injury and disease.
Required Behaviors:

Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal Radiologic Technology Program
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Registered
- NM State Certification for Radiologic Technology
- Physical demands: lifting a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
- Maintains current BLS certification
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs basic Radiologic procedures at a professional and technical level not requiring constant supervision and utilizing industry standards.
- Understand the basic reporting system for position.
- Provide knowledgeable coverage for the O.R., ICU, and E.D. departments as needed.
- Understand the usage of the D.R. system, transfer and viewing of images through the P.A.C.S. system.
- Understand the ordering system through the R.I.S. (Radiology Information System) and E.M.R. system
- Understand triaging radiology exams and contacting radiologist for procedures
- Understand use of afterhours teleradiology system
- Maintain, clean, and re-stock each radiologic exam room when procedure is completed.
- Transportation of patients as needed.
- Adheres to SJRMC radiology dress code.
- Maintains confidentiality of all hospital matters (i.e., HIPAA)
- Practices good communication skills.
- Conducts self in a professional manner consistent with the values of San Juan Regional Medical Center.
- Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs.
- Attends meetings, workshops and conventions to increase clinical skills.
- Provide professional communication with staff and patients.
