Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic surgical team. In this vital role, you will assist in preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and supporting surgeons during a wide range of procedures. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with aseptic technique Collect and document data related to patient vitals, anesthesia levels, and physiological responses during surgery Monitor patient status by observing vital signs and responding promptly to any changes in condition Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms Follow infection control protocols rigorously to prevent contamination and ensure a sterile environment Support patient care activities pre- and post-operation, including positioning patients and providing comfort measures Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to assist effectively during diverse surgical procedures Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital medicine, critical care units, emergency medicine, and ambulatory surgery centers Assist in data collection for quality improvement initiatives and analyze clinical data to enhance surgical practices Qualifications Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is required Proven experience working in OR settings with exposure to Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers preferred Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, infection control practices, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Experience supporting surgeries in PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), ICU (Intensive Care Unit), or acute care environments is highly desirable Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation of medical records and surgical data Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications like Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are a plus Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations involving emergency medicine or trauma cases Excellent analysis skills for monitoring patient responses and assisting with complex procedures Prior experience in hospital medicine or ambulatory surgery centers is advantageous Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to delivering exceptional surgical care.
