Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this critical role, you will assist in surgical operations, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that all necessary instruments and supplies are available. You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other medical staff in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures. Your expertise in infection control and anatomy knowledge will be essential in maintaining high standards of patient care. This is a Per Diem position for Wednesdays and Fridays. Responsibilities Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and ready for use. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and performing suctioning as needed. Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure to prevent infection. Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery and report any changes to the surgical team. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and coordination during operations. Participate in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments post-surgery. Document all relevant information accurately in electronic health records using systems such as Epic. Stay updated on best practices in infection control and hospital medicine. Experience Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist in an Operating Room (OR) setting is preferred. Proficiency in vital signs monitoring and medical-surgical procedures is essential. Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge to assist effectively during surgeries.
