Degree/Education:
Graduate from a Surgical Technology Program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) for surgical technicians, surgical technologists, operating room technicians. Completion of an accredited surgical service and clinical course. Certifications (in addition to Basic Life Support identified in paragraph 1.5.45.6.): Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or possess a Military Occupational Specialty. Computer-based training does not constitute fulfilling the training requirements. Must maintain currency at NO cost to the government.Experience:
