Job Description

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists is looking for a Surgical Technologist to join their team at the Specialist One-Day Surgery Center, where you'll find a supportive team, great camaraderie, and a culture that truly values work-life balance! Monday-Friday rotating schedule 7am-3:30pm and 7:30am-4pm No on call, weekends or holidays! Pay is based on experience Position Summary The Orthopedic Surgical Tech plays a vital role in supporting orthopedic surgical procedures such as joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, spine operations, and trauma interventions. Working within a dedicated orthopedic surgical team, this role involves preparing surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting the lead surgeon and team throughout various orthopedic cases.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and organize surgical instruments and trays specific to orthopedic procedures Assist RNs in positioning and transferring patients appropriately for various orthopedic surgeries Maintain sterile field and ensure aseptic techniques throughout surgery Assist surgeons during orthopedic operations including joint replacements and arthroscopic procedures Provide intraoperative support such as passing instruments and managing surgical equipment Coordinate workflow within the operating room for efficient procedure progression Monitor patient condition continuously during surgery and assist with patient care
Qualifications:
Entry-level experience in surgical technology Certificate or diploma in Surgical Technology Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required Knowledge of sterile techniques and orthopedic surgery procedures Familiarity with surgical instruments used in orthopedic cases Strong patient care and intraoperative assistance skills Effective communication, attention to detail, time management, and collaboration abilities #Evolve Expected hours: 40 per week
