Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into an essential role providing surgical patient care as a skilled Operating Room Technician (ORT) and Certified Surgical Technologist. This contract opportunity is designed for focused, detail-oriented professionals eager to have a direct impact on successful surgical outcomes. Your expertise will support surgeons, nurses, and the entire surgical team during various procedures in a dynamic hospital setting.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Current national certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) Demonstrated experience as an OR Technician or Surgical Technologist in an acute care or hospital environment Solid knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices Proficiency with surgical instrumentation, setup, and specimen handling Ability to anticipate needs of the surgical team during operations Collaborative approach with strong communication skills Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Demonstrated reliability and a commitment to patient safety
Role Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the sterile field before and during surgeries Assist with equipment setup and preparation of surgical instruments and supplies Partner closely with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient care Accurately handle specimens and surgical tools, following established protocols Support the smooth flow of cases by anticipating surgeon and nurse needs Maintain detailed, accurate records of surgical supplies and equipment usage Participate actively in department meetings and continuing education
