Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Surgical Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes during critical surgical procedures. In this fast-paced role, you will assist surgeons and healthcare professionals in a variety of surgical settings, ensuring the highest standards of safety, sterilization, and patient care. Your skills in handling surgical instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and supporting complex surgeries will be vital to our mission of delivering exceptional surgical services. This position offers a quick onboarding process to get you into the operating room swiftly and efficiently, making a meaningful difference in patients' lives every day. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring all tools are ready for use in diverse procedures such as cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, trauma, and pediatric surgeries. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical supplies with precision and care. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent healthcare-associated infections and ensure patient safety throughout all stages of surgery. Monitor vital signs and patient responses during procedures, providing critical support for anesthesia teams and physicians. Manage medical records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or other EMR platforms, documenting procedure details comprehensively. Support the sterilization of medical equipment and surgical instruments following hospital protocols to uphold infection control standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ICU staff, emergency medicine personnel, and hospital medicine providers to facilitate seamless patient care transitions before and after surgery. Skills Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures across multiple specialties including trauma care, orthopedics, neurosurgery, pediatrics, and cardiovascular surgery. Proven experience with data collection related to patient vitals, treatment progress, and surgical outcomes. Hands-on expertise in handling medical equipment operation and sterilization processes within hospital or ambulatory surgery center environments. Strong analysis skills to assess patient conditions quickly and respond effectively during acute care or emergency situations such as Level I or Level II trauma cases. Proficiency in suturing techniques, fracture treatment methods, endoscopy procedures, and treatment of complex injuries requiring specialized orthopedic or trauma care skills. Familiarity with hospital information systems including Epic EMR/EHR platforms for managing medical records efficiently. Critical care experience in ICU settings or emergency departments is highly valued for this role's fast-paced environment. Knowledge of infection prevention practices including healthcare infection control protocols and aseptic technique adherence. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail in surgery assistance roles across various specialties such as pediatric or cardiovascular surgery.
