Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies with precision and efficiency. Monitor vital signs, patient physiology, and overall condition throughout surgeries, providing critical support for patient care teams. Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms, documenting procedures meticulously. Ensure the proper sterilization and maintenance of medical equipment and surgical instruments to uphold hospital standards for infection control. Support trauma care efforts by assisting with treatment of fractures, trauma assessments, and emergency interventions in Level I and Level II trauma center environments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate complex surgeries including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, pediatric, endoscopy, and other specialized procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in handling medical equipment operation, analysis skills for troubleshooting issues, and understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical interventions. Experience Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist in hospital settings with exposure to diverse surgical disciplines such as cardiovascular surgery assistance, neurosurgery assistance, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, or trauma care. Prior work within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable. Demonstrated competence in handling medical-surgical cases, critical care environments including ICU and emergency medicine settings. Hands-on experience with OR procedures involving suturing, fracture treatment, endoscopy techniques, and ambulatory surgery center operations. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or similar platforms for managing medical records efficiently. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection prevention practices including aseptic technique and healthcare infection control expertise. Ability to perform data collection accurately while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments requiring acute care expertise.
