Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into an essential surgical support role in a dynamic, high-acuity environment with this 13-week contract opportunity for a skilled Operating Room Technician with nursing and certified surgical tech experience. This position offers a four-day workweek and the excitement of working in a Level 3 trauma center, supporting a range of procedures and responding to urgent cases.
Schedule/Hours:
Four 10-hour shifts, days: 7:00am-5:30pm Call required: Expect one on-call shift per week, beginning after your regular shift ends (5:30pm-7:00am) One weekend call shift (Saturday or Sunday, 7:00am-7:00am) every five weeks Mandated call rotation to ensure coverage when needed; must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of supervisor's request
Qualifications:
Nursing - ORT or Certified Surgical Technologist credentials required Demonstrated experience in a hospital OR setting, with the ability to scrub orthopedic total joints, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures Proven capability to perform effectively under pressure in trauma or acute care environments Reliable transportation to ensure on-time response for mandated call shifts Professional, adaptable, and team-oriented approach to patient care
Responsibilities:
Scrub and assist with a wide range of surgical procedures, specifically orthopedic total joints, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment before, during, and after surgery Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency call-ins in alignment with Level 3 trauma center protocols Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical staff for optimized patient outcomes Adhere to hospital safety and infection control standards at all times Bring your expertise and commitment to surgical care where every shift makes an immediate impact.
