Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Work alongside a highly skilled surgical team in a dynamic, 7-room inpatient/outpatient operating suite during a 13-week assignment. This role focuses on delivering exceptional patient care within a modern perioperative environment and offers valuable experience scrubbing for specialty cases, including eye procedures and trauma. Certified surgical technologists and qualified operating room nurses will play a critical part in providing seamless, safe procedures for patients.
Schedule:
Five 8-hour shifts per week
Mids:
11:45am - 7:45pm
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Surgical Technologist or relevant Nursing - ORT credentials Active BLS certification Demonstrated experience with ophthalmic cases—scrubbing posterior eye and assisting with eye trauma preferred Proficiency with the Davinci XI robotic system is required Ability to float between operating departments in main OR and satellite 7-room unit as needed Adaptability in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical setting
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment before, during, and after procedures Scrub for a range of surgical cases, with special emphasis on ophthalmic surgeries and trauma Anticipate the needs of surgeons and safely manage surgical instruments and equipment Support team by floating to different rooms if needed, based on departmental demands Collaborate closely with nurses, anesthesia, and surgical staff to ensure optimal outcomes
