A Surgical Technician or Technologist assists with surgical operations. Prepares the operating room and equipment before a procedure, and helps surgeons and nurses during the procedure. Works in hospitals or other healthcare facilities.
Operating Room, Surgical Scrub, Surgical Technology, Orthopaedics, Plastics What you'll do: P Performs surgical scrub; dons OR attire and PPE; assists with gowning, gloving, and draping Prepares and maintains sterile field; gathers, checks, and opens supplies and equipment. Assists with patient positioning, skin preparation, and intraoperative tasks such as suctioning, sponging, passing instruments, and cutting sutures. Measures and passes medications, hemostatic agents, and irrigation solutions (does not administer medications). Handles specimens according to policy; prepares bone/tissue products (excluding ACL graft). Operates sterilizers and surgical equipment; ensures proper functioning and safe use. Participates in time-out procedures and post-operative care, including dressing application and patient transfer. May assist as second technologist during complex procedures (e.g., holding retractors, applying electrocautery, connecting drains, applying dressings).
What We're Looking For:
Education:
Completion of an approved accredited surgical technology program or military training.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred
Certification:
Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist is preferred.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:
