Overview As an Endoscopy Technician at Hilliard Endo Center, you will assist physicians and nursing staff in delivering high-quality gastroenterology procedures in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. This role combines technical expertise, patient care, and teamwork to ensure smooth operations and positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Procedure Support :
Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies, by preparing and maintaining equipment, handling specimens and scope cleaning.
Equipment Management :
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and related equipment according to infection control protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
Patient Care :
Provide pre- and post-procedure support to patients, including explaining procedures, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Inventory and Supplies :
Monitor and restock supplies, ensuring all necessary tools and materials are available for procedures.
Documentation :
Accurately document procedure details, patient interactions, and equipment maintenance in compliance with regulatory standards.
Team Collaboration :
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain efficient workflow and high standards of care.
Process Improvement :
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinic efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Availability :
Must be available to work 2 Saturdays per month to support procedure schedules.
Qualifications and Skills Education and Certification :
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Endoscopy Technician or Surgical Technologist program preferred. Certification (e.g., CBSPD, SGNA, or equivalent) is a plus. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience :
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician or in a similar clinical role, preferably in a gastroenterology or surgical setting.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in handling endoscopic equipment, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols.
Patient-Centered Care :
Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
